A draught horse team working at Sovereign Hill Ballarat Australia
"Sovereign Hill in Ballarat is an excellent place to visit, I really felt like I was stepping back in time when I visited there. The park is set in the 1850s celebrating when gold was first discovered in 1851 in Ballarat.
The shops and buildings were amazingly realistic, they included a blacksmith, the old fashioned lolly shop, a saddlery, the bakery, the Victoria Hotel, a threatre that has live shows, a grocery store, a tinsmith and so many more 'old time' places to explore and activities to do.
You can go on a tour around the park in a coach drawn by the strong and hardy draught horses, get your photos taken in 1850s clothes, go down a mine and pan for real gold. Go bowling the old fashioned way and try to knock down the pins, watch the blacksmith make horseshoes and other useful things just to name a few exciting things to do at one of the many family friendly attractions in Victoria."
