Enjoy Your Holidays In Australia And
Visit Unique Attractions In Australia
What I love about having holidays in Australia is the unique destinations and experiences that are everywhere you travel.
the Kimberley, the BIG things, the Gold Coast, the Mountains, Daintree National Park, the theme parks, the beaches, Kangaroo Island, Tasmania's wilderness, the Great Ocean Road and Coober Pedy.
You can probably name many more unique destinations that you have explored or want to explore and discover.
Holidays in Australia are so unique and fun because Australia is full of variety of things to experience.
There are special tourist attractions in Australia to visit everywhere and many of them are family friendly attractions.
Australia has many reasons why we want to holiday and explore here. For example these locations in these pictures of Australia are all 'must see' destinations.
Here are my Best Ten Reasons and Excuses to enjoy adventure holidays and scenic road trips in Australia.
The States and Territories
Australia’s states and territories are all impressive, unique and waiting for you to visit. Each state and territory has its own attractions for you to enjoy, some are manmade and others are nature's creations that will have you amazed.
Cities and Towns
Many of Australia's cities and towns are near the coast so you can enjoy the beaches and the marine life. Australia's other cities and towns are in the regional or remote areas where you can soak up some country living and atmosphere.
View of the Sydney Opera House and the City
"Visiting Sydney - Darling Harbour, the Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, Taronga Zoo, Sydney Harbour Bridge are must see attractions.
There are also many great experiences and activities you can enjoy also like cruising on Darling Harbour which may include a delicious lunch, climb the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and take in the glorious view, for an even higher and better view of Sydney try the Skywalk at Sydney Tower."

Most of Australia's tourist attractions are highly advertised but when you are travelling look around for those hidden 'attractions or experiences' they could easily be the highlights of your holiday.
Of course the very publicised attractions like the 'Bridge' or the 'Rock' and theme parks should be on your 'must do' list too.
When you visit regional or remote towns go to the Visitors Information Centre, or ask a local person at the pub or shop etc. what are the best attractions or things to do in the area.
Most likely they will have some great suggestions of some out of the way places, 'must see' things, activities for the kids or suggest a tour of some kind like a sunrise or sunset tour that is excellent and a 'must do' activity.
Each state or territory has many interesting attractions, these links to 'attractions' pages will show you many exciting attractions and things to do while you are enjoying holidays in Australia.
Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia
Australia's coastline is about 40,000 kilometres long with about 11,000 beaches in Australia linked together to create a very scenic road trip around the coast which includes many road trip destinations.
At the beach and coastal towns there are so many things you can enjoy like walking along the beach early in the morning or in the evening and love the views and sounds of the beach.
Coastal towns are very inviting and have that very 'beachy' atmosphere in their shops, restaurants, cafes and attractions. At the beach there are many other free fun things to do.
You may have a favourite beach you love going to every holiday or you visit many different beaches, either way most of us have a favourite beach that seems perfect. Australia has many popular beaches maybe you have been to some of them.
The National Parks
Australia has hundreds of National Parks all around Australia that are absolutely stunning, natural and wild. There are many well known like the Blue Mountains near Sydney, Uluru Kata Tjuta in the Northern Territory, Purnululu in the Kimberley, Kakadu near Darwin, the Grampians in southern Victoria, Fraser Island in Queensland.
You can visit and go camping at any of these National Parks and experience rainforests, lakes, mountains, waterfalls, deserts and see the best sunrises and sunsets. Take your camera and you will have some Awesome photos to keep forever.
The stunning Blue Mountains are a short drive away from Sydney
The Journeys and Tours
Road trips, tours and journey holidays in Australia are the best way to discover and explore everywhere in Australia. You can go on an organised tour or create your own self drive trip itinerary either way it will be a whole lot of fun and experiences.
There are well known road trips like the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, The Explorers Way which is the Stuart Highway that goes through the Centre of Australia, the Savannah Way crosses the top of Australia.
Also you can create your own itinerary, to travel to destinations that suit you. You can make your trip in a circular pattern so you are not going on the same roads twice, then you will see many more different places and attractions.
The Outback is mainly across Central Australia where it is much drier and usually hotter. This is an area that is very large and has stunning and unique scenery at every turn.
Central Australia is also called the Red Centre which is famous for the huge red rock called Uluru. The colours of the Outback are quite beautiful but also unique.
Every where you look there is red dirt of the desert, green shrubs or trees and the beautiful blue sky. These colours do create some very interesting photos especially if you can capture images of the sunrises and sunsets while you are on holidays in Australia.
The Top End
The Top End which includes the Kimberley which is in north Western Australia and is part of the 'top end' of Australia which has two seasons the ‘Wet’ and the ‘Dry’.
Wet Season - Starts October to March, the weather is very humid and plenty of rain occurs, floods happen in some areas and some roads get too wet and cannot be driven on and can be closed for weeks or months.
April to September is when the Dry season happens and is the best time for visitors and tourists to enjoy their self drive tours and holidays in Australia in the Top End.
Splashing in Bells Gorge on the Gibb River Road, the Kimberley WA
"The Gibb River Road is an amazing 'dirt road' adventure drive from Derby near Broome to ElQuestro Station near Kununurra which is about 700 kilometres. Although it is rough and harsh terrain there are many stunning gorges - like Bells Gorge in the photo above which are literally in the middle of nowhere. They just appear after a short or 'maybe' a longer walk.
There are also stunning rocky cliff faces, ancient boab trees scattered everywhere, magnicent and beautiful rivers with our interesting 'Aussie' wildlife everywhere. The views are truly stunning and so unique. A trip to the Kimberley in Western Australia will make your holidays in Australia one to remember forever."
The Food and Wine
Australia is well known for its beautiful food from many excellent chefs and wine from many regions like Barossa Valley in South Australia and Margaret River in Western Australia. They produce our famous wine that is sold all over the world.
Barbecues and picnics can be enjoyed everywhere on your holidays in Australia, at the beach, in the park, in beautiful National Parks, under huge shady trees and in beautiful gardens.
The Unique Animals and Nature
Australia has many zoos and wildlife parks to visit while you are on holidays in Australia. You have probably heard of Taronga in Sydney Zoo and Australia Zoo in Beerwah Queensland, there are many more that you can go to throughout Australia.
Maybe you want to cuddle a koala, pat a kangaroo, see a real crocodile in its natural habitat. You can also see unique animals and reptiles like platypus, thorny devils, frill necked lizards, echidnas, Tassie devils while you are enjoying holidays in Australia.
There are slso many marine parks and islands where you can see our little penguins and seals up close. Snorkeling and scuba diving are an excellent way to see the underwater world.

Australia has many attractions, galleries, museums where our history can be discovered and enjoyed. There are plenty of information and displays about our aboriginal history, the explorers, our farmers, political history, our art and many buildings have been heritage listed so it helps us to understand our history and how Australia has developed.
