new south wales australia sydney harbour bridge cruises

A beautiful day for a cruise around Sydney Harbour

"Cruising around the harbour is the best way to really appreciate the shoreline of scenic cliffs, parks, coves, stunning luxury homes, historic buildings like Kirribilli. There is also Taronga Zoo, Luna Park, Fort Denison and of course the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

There are many companies that organise the cruises, they can vary from a sightseeing cruise for an hour to a very luxurious cruise and also very special cruises can be arranged for weddings or other special occasions.

If you are sightseeing for a day or two there is a 'hop on hop off' ferry that visits eight of the best attractions in the harbour. They are the Darling Harbour, Taronga Zoo, Luna Park, Manly, Shark Island, Fort Denison, Watsons Bay, Circular Quay. This is an easy way to travel to each attraction, when you are finished move on to your next choice."

new south wales australia outback silverton hotel

The very unique Silverton Hotel near Broken Hill Outback NSW

"In the late 1800s Silverton was a very busy mining town with a population of about 3000 people. Today things are much different with a population of about 60, it isn't a mining town any more but it is rich with art, beautiful scenery, tourism, unique character and a very popular location for Australia films.

Silverton has become a very popular tourist town where visitors from all over the world visit Many Australian films have featured the 'Silverton Pub' and it has become home to many artists who have been inspired by the beautiful landscapes of the area. The artists are using the original buildings as their art gallerys.

When we were there a few years ago I absolutely loved it, the old original buildings all had a character of their own and it was a bit like a 'ghost' town like in the old movies. The movie 'Mad Max 11' which was made in 1981 featured the Silverton Hotel. Since we were there a 'Mad Max' museum has been added which includes a replica of Max's vehicle the 'interceptor' which used to be parked out the front of the pub."
